The method involves establishing a list of N name of airport (Ai), where i is an index between 1 an N, which identifies an airport that an organization chooses as a pertinent destination. A number is determined, where the number is a minimum between a predefined number (M) and a number (N). The name of the airport is displayed from the list to an operator of an aircraft according to predefined order based on criteria of duration of flight separating a current position P from the position of the airports. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) An assistance device for diversion according to choice of an airport (2) a system for management of flight of an aircraft.
