The method involves introducing a temporal shift into the microwave frequency signal in an inlet (1) to generate the delayed signal (7), and attenuating the signal delivered at an exit (2) corresponding to the delayed signal, when a control signal (6) comprises two orders indicating that the signal in the inlet is respectively attenuated and not attenuated. The temporal shift is higher or equal to a duration moving from the detection of the harmful effect until the reception of the order in the control signal and effectively implements operations required to attenuate the delayed signal. An independent claim is also included for a device for limiting optimized power of microwave signal for protecting an electronic device.
