The control (10) has control cases (12, 14) respectively transmitting control signals corresponding to controls interpreted by a player. A common case (20) receives the signals and includes a scheduler (52). The scheduler triggers execution of a control transmitting task in response to reception of one of the signals, and prevents triggering of another control transmitting task, in response to the reception of another signal, until the former task is completely executed such that one of the controls is entirely transmitted and interpreted by the player. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a DVD-video player.
