PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for constituting a meta model based on a radial basis function (RBF). PSOLUTION: In one surface, a product is designed and optimized by using a design parameter a target and restriction of one set. A large number of design of experiment method (DOE) points are specified. The respective DOE points express a specific, that is, non-overlapping combination of the design parameter. A computer-assisted engineering (CAE) analysis is made to the respective DOE points. The meta model based on the RBF is generated so as to approximate to a CAE analysis result in all the DOE points. A crowded distance is calculated to the respective DOE points. The DOE points are rearranged according to a predetermined reference such as lowering order, and the DOE points of the number predefined from there are selected as the RBF neuron center. An RBF parameter such as a function type, a width and a weight factor is adjusted so that the meta model is substantially adapted to the CAE analysis result. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
