PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delicious low calorie dietary food (staple food) for diet substituting for a food product (staple food) containing a lot of carbohydrate such as rice/Japanese wheat noodle/buckwheat noodle/pasta, which is usable regularly without distress, is also improved in taste and texture, and supplys nutrient likely to be insufficient, in view of the fact that at present devil's tongue rice/devil's tongue noodle/agar noodle as a low calorie food product (staple food) are generally on the market, but they are likely to be avoided because of the peculiar texture and taste.;SOLUTION: The new low calorie food product (staple food) is obtained by mixing a food material having a relatively low carbohydrate content and low calorie, such as "soybean powder" and "bean curd refuse", with a low calorie food material such as devil's tongue/agar/albumen, in the production process, forming the mixture into a rice grain form or a noodle form, and improving the peculiar texture of the material such as devil's tongue/agar/albumen.
