PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment derived from a plant belonging to genus Ipomoea of family Convolvulaceae that is completely free of an odor originating from the plant belonging to genus Ipomoea of family Convolvulaceae, or in which the odor has been significantly reduced, and a pigment formulation containing the pigment, and to provide a method for producing the odorless or low-odor pigment derived from the plant belonging to genus Ipomoea of family Convolvulaceae.;SOLUTION: In the method for producing the pigment, an adsorption-treated liquid of a pigment extract liquid from the plant belonging to genus Ipomoea of family Convolvulaceae is subjected to at least one treatment selected from adsorption, ion exchange, acid treatment and membrane separation, so that the concentration of aroma components contained therein becomes 150 ppm when color value defined as E^10%_{1 cm} is 160.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
