PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lipid-nucleic acid particle complex useful for in vitro or in vivo gene transfer. PSOLUTION: The particles can be formed by using a detergent dialysis method using an organic solvent. Upon removal of a solubilizing component (i.e. a detergent or an organic solvent), the lipid-nucleic acid complex forms particles wherein the nucleic acid is serum-stable and is protected from degradation.
