PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring method for a melting furnace, and a measuring instrument and a monitoring device for the melting furnace, simply and accurately measuring the corrosion amount of a bottom refractory and the thicknesses of a slag layer and a metal layer.;SOLUTION: Using the measuring instrument 1 including a bar-like member provided with a plurality of holes formed in the longitudinal direction, at the point of time as a measurement reference, a distance H₀ from the bottom to the reference position in the vicinity of a measurement port is previously measured by inserting the measuring instrument from the measurement port 31, and after an operation for a predetermined time, similarly a distance H₁ from the bottom to the reference position is measured. The corrosion amount of the bottom refractory is calculated from a difference between these measured distances H₀, H₁. In inserting the measuring instrument, the measuring instrument formed by covering the bar-like member with metal thin material is inserted to the bottom, and after the metal thin material is molten and molten slag or molten metal flows into the holes, the measuring instrument is pulled out, and the length of the hole where the slag or metal exists is measured to obtain the thickness of the slag layer and the metal layer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
