PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of regenerating an exhaust post-treatment device of an automobile having a diesel engine with a small amount of fuel usage. PSOLUTION: The method of regenerating the exhaust post-treatment device 50 of the automobile having the diesel engine 20 drivingly connected to an electric generator 24 has a step for increasing an electrical load to the electric generator 24 prior to the start of the regeneration of the exhaust post-treatment device 50, a step for starting the regeneration of the exhaust post-treatment device 50, and a step for reducing an electrical load to an electric generator 52 after starting the regeneration of the exhaust post-treatment device 50.
