PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a material hardly being damaged in the course of use by firmly joining reinforced platinum and platinum, in the method of manufacturing a reinforced platinum/platinum composite material.;SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the reinforced platinum/platinum composite material by joining a platinum material with reinforced platinum in which metallic oxide is dispersed in platinum or a platinum alloy comprises: (a) a process of superposing a reinforced platinum plate on a platinum material plate, with hot press performed in vacuum to integrate the plates; (b) a process of hot-forging the integrated plate; and (c) a process of further cold rolling the hot-forged plate. The machining conditions in the (a) process are desirably such that the degree of the vacuum of the machining atmosphere is 1 Pa, with the temperature set at 1,000-1,300C and the press working pressure at 20-40 MPa.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
