PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem: natural materials such as starch, chitin, and chitosan, although there is a method for synthesizing a water absorbent by chemical crosslinkage by using a reagent, these chemical substances are strongly poisonous, cause the environmental pollution of a working site, and remain in the water absorbent. PSOLUTION: Water is added to CM (carboxymethyl)-chitin and/or CM-chitosan, and the mixture is kneaded sufficiently into paste.
