PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high voltage or medium voltage switching device in which vacuum and gas interceptions are combined.;SOLUTION: This is a high voltage or medium voltage hybrid circuit breaker device including a cabinet 12, a vacuum switch 10, a means made to put force on a second contact point, gas switches 11, 40, and an actuation rod 6. Furthermore in this device, a coupling means 13' is included which electrically couples the second and a third contact points and which is constituted so as to carry out parallel movement together with the second contact point, and a displacement means coupled to the coupling means and the rod 6 so as to move them and so that the second and a fourth contact points are separated respectively from the first and the third contact points. The displacement means acts on the coupling means so as to retain the situation that the vacuum voltage is kept closed during the movement, and after moving the rod over a specific dead stroke (D) simultaneously, further comprises a dead stroke connecting means constituted so that the parallel motion is obtained unrelated to the motion obtained simultaneously by the coupling means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
