PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave electrodeless discharge lamp device capable of alleviating degradation of a hollow structural member. PSOLUTION: The device is provided with a hollow resonator 3 equipped with a loop antenna 6 for guiding in microwaves generated by a microwave generating part 2 and restraining the microwaves from being discharged to an outside space, and a bulb 5 arranged in an inner space of the hollow resonator 3 and emitting light by the microwaves. The hollow resonator 3 is of semispherical members 33, 36 equipped with flanges 32, 35 made of a conductive material at an outer periphery of a hollow semispherical shape with the flanges 32, 35 jointed, and is provided with metal meshes 31, 34 transmitting visible light emitted from the bulb 5.
