PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent liquid leakage and lowering of life of a mechanical seal by joining a piping flange to the wall surface of a tank with good accuracy. ;SOLUTION: A shaft 18 is extended from an outer frame 20 located outside the FRP tank 10. A fixing jig 28 is mounted on a shaft 18. The fixing jig 28 includes a disc part 32 which is right-angled to the axis of the shaft 18 and is brought into face-contact with the side of the flange 26, and is adapted to arrest the flange 26. Thus, the flange 26 is joined to a piping 14 with the flange 26 arrested taking the shaft 18 as a reference, thereby improving the fitting accuracy of the flange 26. When the mechanical seal for preventing liquid leakage is fitted to the flange 26, the side of the flange 26 and the shaft 18 passed through the piping 14 are right-angled to each other so that offset load is applied to the mechanical seal not to cause light leakage from the liquid seal surface of the mechanical seal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
