PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize oil canning and bubbling, by controlling the supply of an air flow to a selected manifold for a fixed time through plural air manifolds which are arranged parallel to the longer direction of a conveyor, generate a flow of heated air downward for heating by convection and are extended in the longer direction. ;SOLUTION: This system is equipped with an inner heating chamber 14, a conveyor 18 extended through the inner heating chamber 14 in the longer direction, a compressed air source 22 and a plurality of air manifolds 20 which are connected to the compressed air source. arranged parallel to the longer direction of the conveyor 18 and generates a flow of heated air downward toward the conveyor 18 to heat by convection the whole length of a selected part in the width direction of a plate glass S on the conveyor 18 and is extended in the longer direction. An air flow to the selected air manifolds 20 is controlled by supplying or limiting the air flow by a controller 24 for a fixed time during a heating cycle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
