PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a data transfer overhead accompanying frequent switching of many large capacity texture images by holding texture images stored in efficient form.;SOLUTION: For a high-dimensional texture composed of a plurality of texture groups of different imaging environments such as viewpoints and illumination conditions, the texture images composing it are rearranged in the unit of blocks or pixels and converted into an anisotropic texture collecting anisotropic variations in the high-dimensional texture by areas corresponding to blocks or pixels.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
