BONDING OF DIFFERENT MATERIALS WITH CLAY BY MEANS OF MOLTEN METAL IN MANUFACTURE OF APPLIED AND ARTISTIC PRODUCTS

Bonding of different materials with clay by means of molten metal in the manufacture of applied and artistic products solves the problem of joining different materials. A predominant two-dimensional or three- dimensional carrying part of an applied or artistic product is fired clay (1), which has been technologically worked previously. The fired clay (1) can wear notches and openings (5) into which auxiliary materials (2) of two kinds (10, 11) can be inserted in various manners or which can be added onto the edge of the carrying part (8) of the fired clay (1). The edges (6, 7, 8) are trimmed with a copper foil (4) first, then the fired clay (1) and the auxiliary material (2) are bonded so that the gap (9) created between the edges (6, 7, 8) is filled with molten metal (3), covering in this way also the copper foil (4) which is not visible on the final product.
