An apparatus and method for aiding an infant in achieving a proper latchduring breastfeeding isprovided. The apparatus has a shaft and a narrow blade. The blade is attachedto the end of theshaft and has a narrow end surface at the end of the blade. To use theapparatus, a user insertsthe end surface of the apparatus between a lip of an infant attempting tobreastfeed and a breast.The user continues to insert the end surface until the blade of the apparatusis positioned betweenthe lip of the infant and the breast. The apparatus is then rotated so thatthe blade presses againstthe lip of the infant and the end of the blade flips the lip of the infantoutward, placing the lip ofthe infant in a proper latching position.
