A stop-off place candidate information registering device holds history information including stay place information. History information searching means searches for history information meeting a predetermined condition. Event route information generating means generates event route information from the history information searched for. Stop-off place candidate information generating means generates stop-off place candidate information by using the event route information. Stop-off place candidate information registering means registers the generated stop-off place candidate information. The stop-off place candidate information registering device extracts a combination of relevant stay places from the generated event route information, generates stop-off place candidate information, and registers the information. Therefore, the stop-off place candidate information registering device can hold information appropriate to presentation as stop-off places.
