A method and a system for providing a mobile terminal oriented context aware service are provided to provide a proper service, to which context information about a user and the surrounding environment changed in real time is reflected, though a special sensor is not installed at the mobile terminal. A system for providing a mobile terminal oriented context aware service includes a sensing oriented unit(102), a service oriented unit(104) and a mobile terminal(106). The sensing oriented unit collects and processes environment information of a specific area, physical body information of a human or an animal or physical property information of life commodities. The service oriented unit, such as an electronic information home appliance and an information unit, collects and processes context information derived when an independent service is provided. The mobile terminal includes an integrated interface for being connected to the sensing oriented unit and the service oriented unit and provides a context aware service on the basis of the collected context information and a stored user profile. Communication between the sensing oriented unit and the terminal or the service oriented unit and the terminal uses near field radio communication technique like mobile communication, bluetooth, wibro or zigbee.
