SCALABLE GRID RESOURCE MANAGEMENT BASED ON WBEM WITH UPNP RESOURCE DISCOVERY

A WBEM(Web-Based Enterprise Management)-based scalable grid resource management device including discovery of UPnP(Universal Plug and Plug) resources and a method thereof are provided to manage WBEM-based scalable grid resources distributed based on the UPnP and the WBEM. A client request a task in a CIMOM(CIM Object Manager) calling an SLA(Service Level Agreement) provider(303). The SLA provider test resources required for the task and determines whether the system safely approves the task. The SLA provider requests a scheduler(302) to receive information for the available resources through a resource provider(313). The resource provider receives the information by using a UPnP provider(312), a CLI(Call Level Interface) provider(314), and an SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) provider(315), and determines a current statue and availability of the resource. The information stored in a CIM(Common Interface Module) repository(309) is updated by discovery and determination results. The scheduler computes mapping and informs the SLA provider of mapping.
