An automatic control system and a method for LEDs are provided to control LED illumination to coincide with image information supplied to users using the image information supplied by an image information supply device, thereby supplying the LED illumination which the users desire. An automatic control system for LEDs comprises an image information supply device and an LED module control device. The image information supply device(100) transmits reproduced image information in a wire or wireless way. The LED module control device(200) automatically controls an LED illumination module using the transmitted image information. The LED module control device consists of a storing unit, a detecting unit and a controlling unit. The storing unit(230) includes color control signals and index information of image data. The detecting unit(210) detects the index information including reproduction time information and a reproducing image type. The controlling unit(220) compares the detected index information to the storing unit's tables and transmits the color control signals to the LED illumination module.
