A method for automatically supplying and recovering a tray of a production line and a device thereof are provided to improve the spatial utilization by automatically performing a supply and recovery process of the tray in a narrow space. A method for automatically supplying and recovering a tray of a production line comprises: a step of successive feeding a tray(5) from the lowest first among the trays piled with the loading of a semiconductor chip and an integrated-circuit material; a step of conveying the tray to a work zone of a front production line by a supply conveyor(20) of a lower part; a step of supplying an empty tray, finishing a task in the work zone of the production line, to a rear side by using a return conveyor(40) or making the empty tray lower; and a step of successively collecting the empty tray to be piled up and down.
