Streptococcus thermophilus HY9012 having inhibitory effects on human streptococcus mutans is provided to suppress the growth of Streptococcus mutans, to hinder Glycosyltransferase(GTase) and to prevent the attach of dental plaque. Streptococcus thermophilus HY9012 having inhibitory effects on human streptococcus mutans is the lactobacillus separated from the traditional fermented milk, and has excellent effects on oral health and high growth in milk. The Streptococcus thermophilus HY9012 lowers the biological activity of the Streptococcus mutans by suppressing the growth or the Streptococcus thermophilus HY9012 directly and indirectly, or generating hydrogen peroxides.
