A long-span structure by composing an arch and under-tension and the construction method thereof are provided to minimize the moment acing on a composite member and to maximize efficiency by composing a girder with the optimized under-tension composed of a compression member and a cable to an arch. A long-span structure by composing an arch and under-tension comprises two supports(100) installed by columns or beams, an arch(200) forming a shaft in the curved shape, an upper chord member(300) composed of a pipe having the fixed curvature, a tension member(400) having the fixed curvature, and many compression members(500) fixed vertically between the upper chord and the tension member and connecting the arch, the upper chord and the tension member.
