The system has a detection device (2) for detecting movements of multiple road users e.g. pedestrians. An evaluation device (3) evaluates the detected movements with respect to a danger, a direction from which the danger impends, and a remaining reaction time with respect to a quality of the danger. An output device (4) outputs a signal i.e. acoustic warning, to the endangered road user, where the signal is selected corresponding to the actual quality of the danger. A transmitting device transmits a warning message to a driver assistance system of a vehicle involved in a possible conflict.
