The method involves installing a traffic light (1). The traffic light signals are switched in order to control the road crossing. The traffic light signal is noticed by the pedestrians. The pedestrians are crossed the road after the permission of the traffic light controller. The pedestrians e.g. blind differentiate and notice the light, particularly color of the traffic light signal, independently from the exposure conditions. An independent claim is also included for a device for increasing the road crossing safety measures.
