The device has a test part holder, where one of two functional units i.e. inner ring and outer ring, of a test specimen i.e. radial bearing, is clampable in the test part holder in a fixed manner. A drive unit (1) accelerates the other unclamped functional unit. A laser vibrometer (9) detects vibrations on the test specimen, where a laser beam of the laser vibrometer is directed on one of the functional unit. An evaluation unit outputs a quality signal in dependence of the detected vibrations of the test specimen. An independent claim is also included for a method for noise testing of a test specimen.
