The actuating system (20) has a pressure source (26) for generating fluid pressure, and a slave cylinder (46) staying in effective connection with the pressure source. A clutch release member (22a) is subjected with an actuating force by the slave cylinder. The fluid pressure generated by the pressure source is smaller than fluid pressure required at the slave cylinder for actuating a vehicle clutch (22). An output of the pressure source is in fluid connection with an input of a pressure amplifier (42).
