The gear mechanism comprises gearbox components, which are movable relative to each other and section wisely coated with a ductile metallic matrix with a coating consisting of hard material particles to be stored. The ductile metallic matrix is partially formed out of nickel and/or cobalt. The hard material particle is stored with a volume concentration of maximum 35 vol.% in the ductile metallic matrix.
