Axially loaded ball bearing's acoustic characteristics and friction moment measuring device for automobile, has electrical motor rotating drive shaft, where force is contactlessly exerted on disk connected with bearing by electromagnets
The device has a measuring element (8) to determine a friction moment of an axially loaded ball bearing (2). An accelerometer (10) determines acoustic characteristics of the bearing. The axial force is exerted on a plane disk (6), which is directly connected with the bearing to be tested, by electromagnets (7) in a non-contact manner. An electrical motor rotates a drive shaft (5) and the bearing, where the motor is coupled to the device by a coupler. The force is adjusted through a distance between the magnets and the disk, and an electrical voltage of the magnets. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring acoustic characteristics and friction moment of an axially loaded ball bearing.
