The method involves heating a metallic sleeve to an austenitizing temperature within a range of 850 to 950 degree Celsius such that the sleeve takes an austenitic microstructure. The sleeve is brought to desired end geometries in a die tool by a massive forming process. The metallic sleeve is cooled in the die tool such that the sleeve takes a martensitic microstructure. The sleeve is taken out from the die tool as a finished sash fastener (4). A material of the sleeve flows against a press direction of the die tool during the massive forming process.
