The system has a double cover with a lower cover for closing a polygonal opening of a container. A connection has two lever elements (20), which are distributed at a cover edge underneath an upper cover (14) and contact synchronously with one another in a back support (22) above the lower cover. The covers are pressably sealed together at an edge side. The upper cover is tightened by a welded reinforcement element, and the lever elements have toggle levers (23), which engage to angle levers (24) acting against the upper cover.
