The support block has a workpiece support organ, particularly in form of a roller (8), row of balls or a smooth surface (14), supported on a supporting frame (7). The workpiece support organ is arranged between two side walls (10). A lateral guide organ (15) is provided at each of the both side walls for a workpiece lying on the workpiece support organ. A guiding slot (16) has a halting slot (19) running on a radial line towards the swiveling axis. A guide pin is provided in the working position at an end of the guiding slot.
