The method involves utilizing a container storage lift (6) for a storage rack aisle (2), where the lift is downstream to a satellite vehicle (5). A container (B) is conveyed to a shelving plane by the lift, and is directly transferred from the plane to the vehicle. A container displacer lift (7) downstream to the vehicle is used for the rack aisle, and the container is directly transferred and removed from the vehicle by the displacer lift. The satellite vehicle is replaced by the storage lift between planes of the rack aisle. An independent claim is also included for a system for storing and displacing a container in or out of a storage.
