The method involves measuring a global system for mobile communications (GSM) data by which two relative positions are determined by evaluation processes which have reliabilities. One reliability is compared with a preset minimum reliability, and a vehicle relative position is determined by averaging the positions if the reliability is above the minimum reliability. A mixed-relative position is calculated by a mixing evaluation process, which possesses a mixing process reliability lying above the minimum reliability, when the reliability is below the minimum reliability. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle comprising an electrical controller.
