The element (18) has a set of inlet channels (28), outlet channels (30) and a longitudinal axis (26) running parallel to a main flow direction of exhaust gas, where the channels are limited by filter walls (34). An electrical conductor extends in axial direction of the filter element. Axial extension of the electrical conductor is 90 percentages larger than overall length of the filter element. The electrical conductor has a material with temperature-dependent electrical resistance, and is designed in u-shape or meander shape.
