The method involves forming a set of partially bent upward sections (13) by punching a flat metal spring band, where the sections are connected by a bar (11) and have lateral surfaces (14) for tribological contact with a cylinder bearing surface. The lateral surface of each section is formed in a bend form during punching of the band such that the bend form of the lateral surface deviates up to 20 percent of a bend form of the cylindrical bearing surface. Slot-like recesses (12) are formed in the bar such that the recesses are arranged perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the bar.
