The method involves containing a decomposer kit and a solid matter extinguishing agent in a pyrotechnic fire damping device. The pyrotechnic fire damping devices are disjointed at source of fire of the decomposer kit and are released through the solid matter extinguishing agent. The solid matter extinguishing agent is a mineral solid matter extinguishing agent in flour or powder form. The mineral solid matter extinguishing agent contains a natural stone dust, building material flour, powdered clay, flour of gypsum, or fine sand. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for fire damping, particularly for the execution of the method; and (2) a device for pyrotechnic fire damping for emission from the fire damping device.
