The control device (CTRL) has an airbag-control unit (AIRBAG-CTRL) and an emergency-control unit (EM-CTRL), where the airbag-control unit is designed to detect emergency situation and to signalize the emergency situation and to activate an airbag depending on the determined emergency situation. The emergency-control unit detects the signalized emergency situation, generates an emergency signal and transmits the emergency signal over a radio interface (GSM). A peripheral unit (PU) is associated with the airbag-control unit and the emergency-control unit.
