The engine has a core engine with a compressor (11), a combustion chamber (17) and a turbine rotor (21) driven by combustion gases of the chamber in a core engine housing (10). A main flow path (35) passes through the core engine and a counter flow path (36) bypasses the core engine. A propane fan stage (30) has encased propane rotors (25, 26), whose rotor blades (29) are surrounded by a co-rotating shell (28). The rotors are made from fiber-reinforced plastic and a shell is designed as a diffuser (31). A lining from sound-damping acoustic material is provided at the inner side of the shell.
