The method involves detecting a problematic case in which transmission and/or execution of commands is not performed. A set of feedbacks are tactually, acoustically or optically signaled by a remote control (1) to a user (4), where the feedbacks indicate the commands that are not transmitted and/or executed. Another set of feedbacks are signaled to the user in an operating case, so that the latter set of feedbacks indicates the commands that are transmitted and/or executed. Transmission characteristics of the remote control are adjusted in the problematic case. An independent claim is also included for a remote control for wirelessly transmitting commands to a device.
