The apparatus (100) has a guide device (9) operatively connected to a boring device (8) for guiding the boring device relative to a borehole (1). The guide device comprises a guide element (13) that interacts with a wall of the borehole. An influencing unit influences in a direction in which another borehole is inserted. The unit has a measuring device e.g. inclinometer, for detecting a position of the guide device in the borehole. The unit comprises supporting elements operating on the boring device. An adjusting element is connected with a control- or regulating device. An independent claim is also included for a method for inserting parallely running boreholes in ground.
