The method involves determining an environment volume at a place or in an area before an output of an announcement. Verification is made whether the environment volume is too high to understand the announcement, or whether the environment volume is small enough to understand the announcement. An output device (AG) is connected with a control room (LW). The announcement is outputted when the environment volume is small enough to understand the announcement. Recording of events at the place and/or within the area is performed by a camera (C).
