The method involves displacing cuts from a farmland (17) by a pricking wheel with pricking devices that are arranged at circumference of the wheel. The pricking devices are turned with the cuts to an ejection station (31). The cuts are discharged and delivered to a receiving device for receiving the cuts. A collect pan (25) with the cuts is wintered in a cold-storage house and the cuts are brought into planting pots and driven out into greenhouses. The farmland is flat pressed in an area of the wheel by a compressor rod (36). An independent claim is also included for a device for producing and handling a cut of a root network.
