The arrangement (1) has parallel transistor branches (10-12) connected with a phase of an alternating current source (3) at an input-side by capacitors and connected with each other at an output side. Insulated gate bipolar transistors (15-18) are connected in series. Diodes are connected in parallel to the transistors in a reverse direction aligned against a forward direction of the transistors. A three-phase alternating-current motor (2) is connected with a loading path of the branches in an area between the transistors. A transistor-gate control device (5) controls the transistors. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a three-phase alternating-current motor.
