The device has a damping mass and a spring element, where the device is arranged at two attachment areas of an axle gear (7). Two individual dampers (14, 15) are arranged in the respective attachment areas. The resonant frequency of the individual dampers, are matched with the exciting frequency of the respective attachment areas in which the dampers are arranged. Each individual damper has an equivalent large damping mass. The size of the damping mass of both individual dampers, is fixed independent of characteristics of a vehicle body.
