The sensor (1) has a permanent magnet (2) and magnetic field sensors (3) i.e. Hall sensor, where magnetic flux of the permanent magnet is guided by two flux guide elements. A variable air gap forms a transition zone for the magnetic flux in a magnetic flux circuit in dependence on the distance between components. One of the field sensors is arranged in the transition zone. A flow guide element (5) is fixed at an end at a pole surface (4) of the permanent magnet and is fixed at an opposite end of the field sensors. Another flow guidance element (10) adjusts the variable air gap. An independent claim is also included for a hydraulic accumulator for a motor vehicle, comprising a magnetic spacer sensor.
