The method involves performing a drive slip regulation when drive slip of a driven wheel exceeds a predetermined slip threshold. A special regulation of drive torque of a drive motor is performed based on a drive torque variable that is predefined during previous performance of drive torque regulation of the drive slip regulation. The special regulation of the drive torque is performed when desired drive torque requested by a driver or the current drive torque exceeds a standard entry threshold for special regulation. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle regulation device for improving drive slip regulation.
