The meter (1) has a case surrounding internal components of the meter and connection terminals (2) with phase and neutral input and output cables. The terminals are located on a determined side of the meter in a vertical plane, and a front face (3) comprises a digital display screen (4) for displaying information about electric power consumption. A reading unit reads the electric power consumption in a normal reading direction when the meter is reversed such that the terminals are situated on opposite side of an upper part of the meter.
